Future-Ready for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.x: Clarus Systems Announces New Migration Certification Service Offering at Cisco Live

Clarus Systems’ Certification Services Mitigate Risks by Verifying Operational Readiness and Performance Before, During and After Migration

ORLANDO, FLORIDA, Calif (June 23, 2008) – Clarus Systems, Inc., a leading provider of integrated voice service management and testing solutions for IP Communication deployments, upgrades and transformations, today announced the company will be focusing on getting its ClarusIPC Plus+ customers “future-ready” for the migration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 6.x at the Cisco Networkers Conference in Orlando, Florida, June 22 – 26, 2008.

For 18 years, Networkers has been the annual conference where network engineers gather for Cisco technical training, education, and networking. Networkers is now part of Cisco Live, Cisco's annual IT and communications conference. As part of Cisco Live, Networkers serves as the technical training and education program for network engineers and specialists.

“With the move to this latest version of CUCM, we are sending a significant message to the industry regarding the business-critical importance of leveraging third party validation services to mitigate risk and maximize operational readiness,” said Brendan Reidy, President and CEO of Clarus Systems. “With our Migration Certification Service offering, customers will benefit from best practices and unmatched validation, monitoring and alerting capabilities for effectively optimized application transitions.”

Further adding more technical context, Gurmeet Lamba, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Clarus Systems, notes: “Migration to CUCM 6.x is not a simple task since users must now acclimate to a hardware appliance versus the CUCM 4 Windows-based software application. Customers must now contend with much ‘newness’ including new hardware, operating system, and internal database management system within the CUCM application itself. With great change comes increased operational risks during the actual and post-migration process. Our ultimate goal is a smooth migration to mitigate and minimize these risks for our customers and prospects.”

According to Lamba, Clarus Systems processes are based on best practices and ensure operational readiness by benchmarking and testing the system from the end user perspective through:

Configuration Analysis (Baseline & Post Migration)

  • Phone Registration & Firmware Verification
  • Automated Testing (System, Locations & Devices)
  • Voice Service & Performance Monitoring
  • Configuration “As Built” Documentation & Certification Reports

“Enterprises, systems integrators and managed service providers rely on our proven migration validation approach to turn data into actionable intelligence by delivering certification services that enable process efficiencies for successful transitions,” added Lamba.

Clarus Systems will be exhibiting in the World of Solutions Expo, booth #1034, at Cisco Live. The company will demonstrate its migration services to mitigate the risks associated with the transition to CUCM 6.x built on the foundation of its flagship ClarusIPC Plus+ 2.4 – integrated voice service management solutions which include automated testing, performance management, configuration management and businesses intelligence.

To further assist its customers with the migration to CUCM 6.x, Clarus Systems will also hold a webcast in conjunction with CIPTUG on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 1:30 EDT titled, Migrating to CUCM 6.x - Are you Ready? To register, please visit: http://www.signup4.net/public/ap.aspx?EID=CIPT170E&OID=80. In addition, Clarus Systems has developed a datasheet that delves deeper into best practice migration processes to CUCM 6.x which is available at:

"As enterprises expand their VoIP deployments, they are increasingly looking at VoIP as a cost-cutting and productivity solution for remote and virtual workers. Recent Nemertes benchmarks indicate that 90% of employees work at remote offices, and the number of virtual workers has increased by 800% in the past five years."
